I found both articles to be interesting and I agree with both. The internet, according to Bill Gates, is essential for education and I agree. For the requirements of education technology must be used. Anywhere from a book report or geography part of a fifth grader to the science project of a an eighth grader to a literary comparison of two authors of an eleventh grader, to the article comparison of a junior in college, to thesis of a graduate student, so many types of technology is used I could not even begin to comment on them. Teachers and professors REQUIRE technology in order to pass their course. I used technology to buy the books for this and all my classes. Technology has opened so many doors and opportunities that it is almost unbelievable. However, if Stoll is correct and the government is going to end up controlling it all, I don't want any of it. Technology is so wide that if the government is controlling, they control advertisement , television, etc. The possibilities are endless and it can be a good thing or bad thing depending on who is controlling it.
